Empowering each student to positively impact the world
All elementaries and Crandall MS to resume normal hours Monday, Feb. 22. Crandall HS to operate modified virtual schedule throughout the week
Hello Pirates, What a week it has been. Our maintenance crews and principals have spent the past two days walking campuses and assessing damage from the storm. I am pleased to report of our eight campuses, only Crandall High School was significantly impacted. All other campuses are fully functional and safe. As such, all elementary campuses and Crandall Middle School will resume normal hours and instruction Monday, Feb. 22. Crandall HS incurred storm damages that will require repair throughout next week. CHS students and staff will operate next week on the schedule below: • Monday (Feb. 22) – There will be no in-person or remote learning for CHS students due to weather-related damages. Teachers will work a planning day. • Tuesday-Friday (Feb. 23-26) – Remote learning will be in place for all CHS students and staff. *Benchmark testing will take place in-person at Compass Academy on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for ninth and tenth grades. Information will be shared with those groups. Monday’s CHS planning day will be used to design the week’s remote learning schedules. All student schedules will be accommodated, including academics, extra-curriculars, fine arts, athletics, testing, CTE, etc. Grab-and-go lunches will also be offered. Students will receive an email from the high school next Monday with more details. We appreciate your support throughout this entire year. The challenges keep coming and we all keep overcoming. I look forward to welcoming you all back next week based on the above schedules. Pirates forever, Dr. Wendy Eldredge CISD Superintendent
The extreme cold has placed critical demand on the state’s power grid. With the rolling power outages continuing throughout North Texas and our area, there will be no in-person learning, or remote learning, tomorrow - Wednesday, Feb. 17. Campuses and district support offices will be closed. State law limits school closing decisions to just one day at a time. When a determination is made about Thursday, we will let you know as soon as possible.
If severe weather persists, CISD will transition to remote learning when school resumes Wednesday, Feb. 17
CISD is closed Monday for President’s Day. Tuesday is Staff Development/Student Holiday. If severe weather does not allow us to return to school in-person Wednesday, Feb. 17, we will transition to remote learning. If this transition takes place, additional information regarding student logins, Google Classroom and other resources will be shared Tuesday with students and families.
